Songs and Praise

See What The Lord Has Done 2010

“Our God is marching on!” is apt in describing the opening of the first church owned by The Apostolic Faith Mission, United Kingdom, outside the London metropolis. It opened in Manchester in the north-west of the country on Sunday the 24th of January 2010.
This showed God in all His majesty taking charge and giving answers to the prayers of His saints; may all glory, honour and praise be to our God for answering our prayers.

Thursday 21st January, 2010 marked the beginning of a new era of worshiping God inside our own church building. Prior to this, meetings were held in rented accommodation that limited activities, especially prayer time, as there had to be a constant awareness of how little time was available. But, late on that Thursday Rev. Isaac Adigun collected the church keys from the Agent. In his own words, the Pastor ‘could not contain his excitement.” He immediately contacted the Manchester brethren to meet at the church for a thanksgiving prayer meeting.

The response to his call was overwhelming.  Members of the Manchester congregation met at the church site with brimming joy and praise for what the Lord had done. Rev Adigun related to the congregation the developments to getting the keys from the Agent, spelling out how God had intervened specially to ensure the keys became available that day. At the end of the meeting, the congregation prayed with such fervency that heralded the beginning of a revival in Manchester as Rev. Adigun read from Psalm 8.

On Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd January, the Manchester brethren met at the church to clean it in preparation for the Sunday services. We thank God that by the end of day on Saturday, the heating to the church hall was working perfectly for our comfort in this cold winter.  The first Sunday Service was therefore held at the new location on Wheler Street, Higher Openshaw, Manchester M11 1DU,

It was a very pleasant Sunday in our new church for which we thank God. It was a unique experience to us, considering the fact that we had the whole day to worship God, as we were not in a hurry to leave the premises as was the case in the places we rented for services.  We had members from all around Greater Manchester as well as Leeds, Bolton and Bury in attendance. The afternoon service was a saints meeting. Rev Adigun took the opportunity to provide details on the way forward in terms of operating as a church and the consecrations that would be required for God to continue to bless us as a church in the North West region of England.

At the moment, the builder is carrying out some necessary refurbishments to the Sunday school building and it is expected that this work will be complete shortly. We expect the dedication to take place sometimes this year along with our Bexley church in London when our Superintendent General, Rev. Darrel Lee will be in attendance.

We request the saints of God everywhere to rejoice and pray with us that the Lord perfects the good work He has begun in our time.
