Christmas Concert 2013

Apostolic Faith Mission UK. Birmingham Branch

It is with a thankful heart and praises to God that we report His faithfulness at the 2013 Christmas concert at Birmingham branch featuring 26 members of the choir and orchestra.

Bro Seun Ogunleye opened the program by 4pm with a warm welcome, which was immediately followed by a congregational songs conducted by Bro Muyiwa Adeyemo.

The program was handed over to the choir leader and they commenced with an orchestra rendition of Glory to GOD by Lance B. Latham and Infant Holy, a carol in Polish language. Various other carols were rendered, among which were Comfort ye and Every Valley from Messiah by G. F Handel, Wonderful Saviour by Stamp-Baxter music, All Hail Emmanuel by Chas H Gabriel and O Holy Night by B. B McKinney.

During the interval the children entertained the congregation with various carol renditions such as ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’ and some others. They also played various musical instruments like violin, viola and clarinet.

The second half of the program opened with more Christmas songs including ‘Rejoice from Messiah by G. F Handel’, ‘Ring out the bells by Leonard A. Gordon’ sung by the female choir, while their male counterpart presented ‘Show me the star by Kayode Oje’. As well as, ‘Hallelujah Amen by Judas Maccabaeus (Handel)’, ‘Mary’s boy child by John Aina & Femi Adeola’, ‘O Mary don’t you weep by John Aina’ and  ‘Deck the Hall by David Willcocks’ which was so well presented and the invitees responded with great applause.

Bro. Mark Mfandarawa gave a sermonette titled ‘Christmas, all about Jesus’. He explained that Jesus wants to decorate the hearts of everyone and that He is knocking on the door of our hearts. This Christmas would be the sweetest if we open our hearts door to Jesus he explained.

Sister Florence Owolabi closed the program with the closing prayer. The choir members shared pleasantries with congregation before everyone was then led to the back hall for light refreshments. There were over 150 people in attendance at the event. May God receive all the glory for the success of this concert.
