Coventry Christmas Carol 2017

We give all glory to God for a successful concert in Coventry on Saturday the 9th of December 2017.
We had choir members from Coventry, Birmingham, Leicester, Leeds and Manchester present.
The programme was opened with a brief introduction by Br Ade Adeyemo followed by a congregational song "O Come All Ye Faithful". The opening prayer was given by Bro. Seun Ogunleye.
The first two choir song was Sing O heavens (Caleb Simpler), followed by Hear the bells (Will Thompson), Canon in D & Lord I lift your name on high was presented by the woodwind ensemble and the Female choir sang Calypso Carol conducted by Bro. Kayode Amusa.
Away in a manger by Stan Pethel was taken as a solo/choir with Sis. Lara Shorinmade as the soloist and followed by another Choir rendition Wonderful Saviour (James Coast).   Part one was concluded with a Viola solo, presented by Bro. Kayode Amusa titled Harmonious Blacksmith by G F Handel and O little town of Bethlehem in various tunes.   The second part of the programme was opened with 2 orchestra pieces conducted by Bro. Seun Idowu titled Marche Militaire by F. Schubert and When a Child is Born by Zacar/Dalban, presented by the full orchestra and all children with ABRSM grades 3 and above.
Two Choir renditions followed, titled All Hail Emmanuel composed by C. Gabriel and Glory to God by B. Latham, A female trio titled Birthday of a King by W.H. Neidlinger and the Male choir sang Show Me the Star composed by K. Oje conducted by Sis. Titi Idu.     The sermonette by Rev. Mark Mfandarahwa brought to light how "The Begotten Son" the ultimate Gift from God was the genesis and basis for the Christmas gifts we give each other at this time of the year. Lastly, the choir sang "Joy to the world medley" arranged by J Aina.
Bro. Toyin Emitola gave the vote of thanks, led the closing song and closing prayer.   We wish you a Merry Christmas rounded up the programme. Pleasantries was exchanged and guests were ushered into the buffet area for light refreshments. The programme was a huge success by God's grace. It lasted from 5pm till 6.40pm.
There were 89 attendees, visitors and members inclusive.  Representatives from Stoke Heath Community Centre were present, Deeperlife church members and others from various locations within Coventry graced the occasion too.
Lord Mayor of Coventry could not attend but sent his greetings.   The Light of hope and Tracts were given out with church details attached for contact and we pray that conviction and Gods presence will take pre-eminence in heart that will connect with God through this avenue.
Testimony: We thank God that an Apostolic Faith member living in Coventry was in attendance, he did not realise there is an Apostolic Faith Church or group in Coventry, he was happy and promised to join us for worship every Sunday.
