Digging, Digging Deep: A Special Revival Weekend at Cranfield

9–11 October 2026

The Apostolic Faith Mission Cranfield held a blessed weekend of Special Meetings from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 October 2026 under the theme, “Digging, Digging Deep.” Brethren from Peckham, Bexley and Leicester joined the Cranfield congregation for warm fellowship, inspiring music, searching messages from God’s Word and earnest prayer. From the opening service to the final altar call, one challenge ran through the weekend: move beyond surface Christianity, dig down to Christ the solid Rock, and go deeper in consecration, discipleship and faith.

Friday evening opened with the revival message, “Digging Deep,” from Luke 6:46–49. Brother Ola Balogun, Western Europe District Superintendent, used Christ’s picture of the two builders to show that a secure Christian life cannot rest on outward profession alone. Like the wise builder who “digged deep” until he reached the rock, every seeker must go beneath pride, excuses, habits and sin to find the true foundation in Jesus Christ. Music complemented the message beautifully: Brother Bimbo Adelana presented a violin “Praise Medley,” the choir sang “Don’t Turn Around” and “Heaven Came Down,” while Tanya and Tope rendered the searching duet, “Is Your All on the Altar?” The service concluded with earnest altar prayer as many sought God for salvation, sanctification and a deeper walk with Him.

Saturday focused particularly on young people, with 44 attending a lively programme themed “Digging and Digging Deep – Beyond Numbers.” Brother Stan Nyakuhwa encouraged the youth to build a strong Christian identity amid the pressures of social media, education, careers, finances and relationships, rather than measuring their worth by numbers, comparisons or external approval. A memorable case study from 2 Kings 3 centred on the command to “make this valley full of ditches,” reminding them that faith prepares before the answer is visible. They were encouraged to dig through prayer, character and obedience, making room for what God desires to do in their lives. An open question-and-answer session with Brother Ola Balogun, host Pastor Brother Fungai Mangere and Brother Stan Nyakuhwa brought the teaching into everyday life, addressing relationships, rejection and the challenge of balancing Christian faith with daily pressures.

Sunday continued the call to spiritual readiness and deeper discipleship. In Sunday School, Brother David Ogunjimi taught on the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, reminding the congregation of the need for holiness, righteousness, watchfulness and faithfulness in preparation for Christ’s return. The morning devotional service, attended by 70 people, was enriched by orchestration of “Onward, Christian Soldiers,” the choir’s fitting “Deeper, Deeper” and “Wonderful Merciful Saviour,” and Tolu and Toyosi’s duet, “Let Me Touch Him, Let Me Touch Jesus.” Brother Ola then preached “Digging Deeper” from Luke 9:23, challenging the congregation with Christ’s threefold call to deny self, take up the cross daily and follow Him. True discipleship, the message stressed, goes beyond convenience or occasional commitment: it is daily surrender of self-will and a lifelong decision to follow Christ whatever the cost.

The weekend concluded on Sunday evening with the evangelistic message, “Digging All the Way,” preached by Brother Joshua Nwaebonyi from Genesis 32:30. Drawing from Jacob’s encounter with God at Peniel, he showed that spiritual breakthrough involves facing what must be faced, surrendering fully to God and allowing Him to transform our identity. Jacob entered the encounter as Jacob but emerged as Israel—a powerful picture of what God can do with a fully surrendered life. The musical ministry carried the same Gospel emphasis: Brother Victor presented a flute solo, the choir sang “I’m a Millionaire” and “The Old Account Was Settled,” while Amala and Bernice Ezeh rendered a “Something Beautiful” medley. The final challenge was clear: do not stop halfway; press through until surrender becomes transformation.

Throughout the weekend, testimonies, music, the Word of God and altar prayer reinforced one spiritual burden. These were more than a series of meetings; they were a united call to dig deep enough to find Christ, dig deeper in discipleship, and dig all the way into complete surrender to God. As seekers gathered in prayer, the desire was that the revival would not end with the weekend, but would continue in individual lives, deepen the spiritual life of the congregation, and strengthen the Gospel witness of the Cranfield church throughout the surrounding communities.

“Dig deep. Dig deeper. Dig all the way.”
