BEXLEY SPECIAL MEETINGS WEEKEND REPORT

Preceded by much prayer, our much-anticipated weekend of special meetings arrived. All roads led to Bexley for our special meetings weekend, which was held between 26th and 28th September 2025 in Bexley, UK, at the Apostolic Faith Church Headquarters for Western Europe. We were blessed to have in attendance Brother Olusola and Sister Tolu Adesope from Portland, Brother Isaac and Sister Stella Adigun from WECA Nigeria, Brother Richard Owen, based in WECA, but came from Winnipeg, Canada, and Brother Funso Ojo from Oceanside, New York, in addition to many other regional pastors and members from other branches.

The weekend commenced with a Revival and Evangelistic Service, which was opened by a String Quartet playing “I’ll Have a New Life,” after which we enjoyed musical preludes from the choir, “Praise ye the Lord” and “I Just Feel Like Something Good is About to Happen.” We enjoyed a time of congregational singing together, after which Brother Olusola Adesope gave the opening prayer. We enjoyed a time of testimonies, then Brother Isaac brought the message “If Not for God.” Taking his key text from Psalm 124:1-2, he admonished all to appreciate the many things that God has done in their individual lives and used the completion of the Bexley church building to encourage all that God is able to beautify their lives too. Many were blessed as they sought the Lord in prayer.

Saturday began with a Q&A time with Brother Olusola Adesope, in which various topics of concern were addressed. This was followed by a presentation of the Bexley church building from the time of purchase to its recently completed extension. One of the highlights of the weekend was the Dedication concert, which took place on Saturday evening from 6 pm. The choir, in conjunction with the youth choir and orchestra, ushered all present into a time of praise and thanksgiving as we enjoyed beautiful and uplifting pieces. It truly was a blessed evening in His presence.

Sunday’s dedication service was the main highlight of the weekend. The day began with Sunday school for all ages, and quite befittingly, the lesson focused on “Faith” and how it is essential to receive anything from God. The dedication service began at 11:15 am and was filled with special renditions from the youth orchestra and the full choir, all in appreciation for God’s faithfulness over the successful completion of the church building. We were blessed to have in attendance the Mayor of Bexley, Councillor Christine Catterall, and Mr Dave Curtois, the Mayor’s Consort, as well as the Member of Parliament, Honourable Louie French. After the dedicatory message from Brother Olusola Adesope, Brother Isaac Adigun gave the Dedicatory Prayer. The choir gave a closing rendition of “The Lord Bless You and Keep You” after which Brother Richard Owen gave the Benediction Prayer. After the service, we enjoyed a time of fellowship over lunch and a tour of the new church building and offices.

We gathered again in the sanctuary at 5 pm to watch a drama titled ‘Remember’ produced and directed by the AFM Bexley Drama Group. With an impactful message, it urged viewers to serve God in the prime of their lives and not to wait until it is too late. Brother Adebanji gave a sermonette afterwards reading from Ecclesiastes 12:1-7 reiterating the importance of giving God the first place in our lives and focus on the matters of eternal value, rather than those of temporal value as Jesus admonishes us in Matthew 6:20, “But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.” We enjoyed a sweet time of fellowship as we tarried in prayer, and the spirit of God was present to bless many.
