Special Revival Weekend – “Glorious Freedom”

Special Revival Weekend, Wuppertal, Germany · 21st – 22nd February 2026

“Glorious Freedom”

Glory be to God for the success of the Special Revival Weekend held in Wuppertal, Germany, from 21st to 22nd February 2026. The programme, themed “Glorious Freedom,” was richly blessed of the Lord, and His presence was evident throughout the meetings. Souls were revived, brethren were encouraged, and the Word of God was ministered with divine power and inspiration.

In preparation to the programme, brethren from Konstanz travelled to Wuppertal on Wednesday 18th February and distributed gospel literatures inviting people to the revival. Other brethren from various parts of Germany and the Netherlands arrived on Friday, 20th February, in preparation for the anticipated revival weekend. On Saturday, 21st February, additional brethren from Italy joined the gathering.

We were especially honoured to welcome our Mainland Europe Regional Director from the United Kingdom, Brother Francis Odudu, and his wife, Sister Christiana, who arrived on Friday ahead of the meetings. Their presence added great encouragement and spiritual strength to the assembly.

It is worth noting that the decision to hold this programme in Wuppertal — rather than at the base in Konstanz — was a deliberate one, aimed at bringing the gathering closer to both old and new members living in that part of Germany. This decision proved richly worthwhile, as the turnout and testimonies from the weekend clearly confirmed.

Morning — Marriage Seminar

The special weekend commenced with a Marriage Seminar anchored by Brother Francis Odudu. The session began with an organ prelude by Brother Femi Adenuga from Germany, followed by a violin solo, “He raised me up and El Shaddai”, by Brother Olusanya Olayinka, from Austria. The choir rendered the theme song, “Glorious Freedom,” conducted by Brother Dare Abioye, after which Congregational Hymn “Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus” was led by Sister Abena Abioye, and the opening prayer was offered by Brother Stephen Ogbodo.

In his teaching, Brother Francis emphasised the importance of seeking God before choosing a life partner and maintaining godly love within marriage. He spoke extensively on God’s Plan for Marriage, God’s Purpose for Marriage, God’s Position on Separation, Divorce & Remarriage; Proceeding to make a Godly Choice in Marriage and The Process of Marriage.

He traced the history of marriage from the beginning, using Gen. 2:18-24, and emphasising that the plan of God if for a man to marry a woman. He further stated that God’s purpose for marriage includes companionship (Gen. 2:18), procreation (Gen. 1:27,28) and prevention of sin (1Cor. 7:2-5). He further stated that God hates divorce, citing Malachi 2:14-16 and Matt. 19:3-9. Brother Francis encouraged those seeking to marry to ensure they seek around the Altars of prayer and concluded with the support that the church provides to intending couples.

The seminar concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session that was also anchored by Brother Francis.

The benediction was said by Sister Abena Abioye. Thereafter, lunch was served, over which brethren exchanged pleasantries.

Evening — Evangelistic Revival Service

Later that same day, the revival service commenced at 4:00 p.m. with an organ prelude by Brother Femi Adenuga and an orchestral rendition of “There Shall Be Showers of Blessing.” The choir ministered in song, “Redeemed, How I Love to Proclaim It,” and the congregational hymn was led by the revivalist, Brother Jonathan Nwosu from Germany, followed by prayer offered by Sister Esther Oladipo from Italy.

During the testimony session, brethren shared powerful accounts of God’s faithfulness, including testimonies of divine protection during the war in Ukraine, provision in difficult times, miraculous intervention during documentation processing, and divine healing.

“A sister testified how God divinely orchestrated her attendance at this programme, and how she met and reconciled with another sister she had an issue with and had not seen for about 20 years. She was overjoyed that God made it possible for the reconciliation and restitution to happen during this first day of the programme. What seemed impossible became a moment of grace, restitution, and reunion.”

The choir rendered “He Set Me Free,” which greatly blessed the congregation and prepared hearts for the message. Brother Jonathan then delivered the sermon titled “Living in Glorious Freedom,” taking his text from Romans 8:21. He highlighted the need for true freedom, the source of this glorious freedom, and what one must do to live in it. Drawing from the Biblical account of the Brazen Serpent in Numbers 21:4–9 and John 3:14, he emphasised that true freedom is found only in Christ, and encouraged the congregation to look unto Jesus in obedience and faith. The service concluded with Hymn 207 and the benediction pronounced by Sister Abena Abioye. A powerful session of prayer followed, with participation from both those physically present and those who joined via Zoom.

Saturday’s events drew a combined 100 attendees, with slightly higher turnout at the evening evangelistic service than the morning seminar.

Opening — Children’s Welcome Programme

On Sunday, 22nd February, the brethren gathered at the second venue for Sunday School and the Morning Devotional Service. The session opened beautifully with a children’s programme, presented to welcome all into the house of God — a spirited and delightful beginning to the day’s worship.

Sunday School — “Elijah”

The Sunday School followed, beginning with an organ prelude and a congregational hymn led by Brother Titus Oyedokun. The children proceeded to their respective classes while the adults remained in the auditorium for their lesson titled “Elijah,” taught by Brother Titus Oyedokun.

The lesson highlighted Elisha’s obedience in leaving everything behind to follow God. The congregation was reminded that God does not always reveal the end from the beginning, but our responsibility is to obey and follow Him wholeheartedly without fear. A duet titled “Make Me a Channel of Blessing” was rendered by Sister Christiana Ola-Odudu and Sister Naomi Ogbodo.

The session concluded with a review of the lesson by Sister Christiana, and that was followed by prayer.

Morning Devotional Service & Sermon — “Spiritual Freedom”

The Morning Devotional Service began with an organ prelude by Brother Femi, and a violin solo by Sister Naomi. The choir ministered “By Constantly Abiding,” and a solo, “Make My Life Beautiful,” was rendered by Brother Olayinka Olusanya. The congregational hymn was led by Sister Abena Abioye, and the congregational prayer was offered by Brother Peter Rowland, also from Germany. Announcements were made by Sister Abena, after which the choir presented a special titled “The Master Has Called Thee.”

The Bible reading, taken from Ephesians 2:1–3, was read by Brother Dare Abioye, and a trio titled “Day by Day” was beautifully rendered by the Ogbodo family.

The sermon, titled “Bondage to Freedom”, was delivered by Brother Francis. Taking his opening text from Ephesians 2:11-13, he spoke on two types of bondage – spiritual and physical while referencing the experience of the Israelites in captivity and explaining how sin damages both body and soul. He provided an assurance that God is able to deliver from both, like He did for the children of Israel in Egypt. He spoke on the fact that every sinner is in bondage and that freedom only comes after one has repented of their sins and accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

He concluded by saying that freedom does not come by a sinner only realising their need for freedom, but that the sinner needs to take action like the Prodigal son did in Luke 15:20. He emphasised that salvation brings transformation, and when one is spiritually freed, it positively affects every area of life. He encouraged the congregation to choose life by choosing Jesus Christ and righteousness.

The service concluded with CGS 241 and the benediction given by Sister Abena Abioye.

Sunday’s two services brought together a total of 94 people, with the morning devotional service drawing slightly more attendees than Sunday School.

PRAYER, GROUP PHOTOGRAPHS & DEPARTURE

Following the services, brethren engaged in earnest prayers and warm Christian fellowship. A meal was shared together, and group photographs were taken to commemorate the blessed weekend. Thereafter, brethren from various parts of Europe departed safely to their respective destinations.

Indeed, the Special Revival Weekend in Wuppertal was a glorious and memorable gathering in the presence of God. We thank Him for His Word, His servants, His protection, and the spiritual revival experienced among His people.

To God Be All The Glory.
