What Do You See?

Aug 04, 2021

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. – Mark 11:24

It was not until we returned from our vacation that I realized I had forgotten to make arrangements for someone to water
our lawn. Due to the lack of rain, the grass was burnt and the weeds were rapidly taking over. During the next several days, I began to try to restore
the grass—what a task! Many neighbors, as well as strangers, had advice about what we should do. The strangers’ suggestions, however, were sarcastic
and discouraging.

As I stood in the yard one day, I said, “Lord, please show me what to do to help restore the grass.” The Lord answered me by saying, “I know what everybody
else is saying about your grass, but what do you see?” I began to realize that even though my physical eyes could see no green, I needed to believe
that the grass would be restored as an answer to my prayer. I stood there and looked as far as the lawn reached and replied, “I envision beautiful
green grass.” From there, the Lord gave me specific instructions on what to do, and I followed them. It was not long before the grass was plush and
green again.

When we ask the Lord for help in any part of our lives, we need to believe that He is able. People may say sarcastic and hurtful things that cause us to
struggle to stay focused on God, but we have to remember that with God all things are possible. He has given us many promises to stand on, and He wants
us to prove Him true in our lives. God is looking for individuals in whom he can show Himself strong. Whatever it is that we desire from God today,
let’s bring it before Him in prayer and choose to believe!
