Now is the accepted time. – 2 Corinthians 6:2

My brother-in-law retired as a junior executive from a major oil company. His retirement portfolio would be adequate for his golden years. He was sixty-seven
years old, a great family man, and had special skills when it came to public relations. Yet, while he acknowledged the existence of God, he had
never committed his life to the Lord.

At 5:24 on the Monday morning after our church camp meeting had ended, my phone rang; it was my brother-in-law. He was sobbing and said he had waited
too long to give his heart to the Lord. I assured him that it was God’s time for him to give his life to the Lord. Later, he revealed to me that
as each day had passed during the recent months, his portfolio had decreased by ten percent, and he was worried about his future. The prayers of
a godly father and mother were being answered! The next Sunday, he traveled to a church that his parents had attended, and he knelt at an altar
of prayer. There, he gave his heart to the Lord. Those who gathered around him that morning sang, “There’s a new name written down in Glory . .
.”

After almost ten years, he is still enjoying a rich and meaningful relationship with the Lord, and he especially enjoys his devotional time each day.

It pays to pray and never give up hope for those we love! God is not willing that any should perish, and He loved sinners enough to sacrifice His only
Son for their salvation. Even if a situation seems hopeless, remember that God moves in mysterious ways His wonders to perform. Those clouds we
often dread are full of blessings to be poured out for Christ’s sake. There is only one way to God, yet He calls us all in different ways. God
will deal with different people along different lines, but he knows when, where, and how to speak to each person.

Never give up praying for unsaved loved ones to receive salvation. God hears and answers our prayers!
