God Is All Knowing

He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him. – Daniel 2:22

I sat patiently in the waiting room at the hospital while my brother was having day surgery. Another family
had already been waiting when I arrived. I learned that they were the mother, father, and young wife of a man who was having surgery on his knee.

After awhile, a surgeon carrying a folder of x-rays came out to talk to that family. He sat down facing them and explained that, after he opened the patient’s
knee, he found more damage than he had anticipated. Because of the extent of the damage, the surgical team had to change their plans somewhat to make
the repairs.

As they continued to discuss the patient, my thoughts moved to God, the Great Physician. I have experienced life-threatening health concerns myself, and
in those times of crisis it has been wonderful to know that my body is in the care of the One who created it. There is never any unanticipated damage
with Him; He knows the exact status of my physical systems at all times. He even has the hairs on my head numbered! And He has power to heal any health
concern in an instant. There is nothing too hard for Him.

Even more amazing than His ability to heal our bodies is the fact that the Lord can give us a healthy spiritual life, too. He can see, diagnose, and heal
perfectly the problems of the heart. There are never surprises; He knows the true depth of our concerns even before we bring them to Him. He does not
consult with anyone else, and He does not have to check with an insurance company! With just our cooperation, God can make all things well.

Nothing is secret or hidden from God; He has the answer to any problem we might be facing today. If “darkness” crosses our path, we can look to the Lord—He
is our light!
