Remembering

Jun 10, 2021

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. – John 14:26

Recently, I have been looking at a lot of old pictures we took of our daughters from when they were growing up. There
are pictures of vacations, pets, musical events, Christmases, birthdays, and many more. We have captured some wonderful memories and I enjoyed looking
back on them. The pictures of our little family doing things together made me want to relive some of those occasions again, but our children are now
grown and have families and homes of their own. Still, it warms my heart to think back on those times.

It can be fun to reminisce about family memories, but we also need to stop once in a while and look back at some of the precious times we have had with
the Lord. For example, the day we were saved was the beginning of our relationship with Him, and just thinking about the change God made in us that
day can bring overflowing joy to our hearts. We each have our own milestones along the way and lessons learned, sometimes the easy way and sometimes
the hard way, but always resulting in our growing closer to the Lord. We can remember the many answers to prayer that have been received—perhaps
our deeper experiences, protection in times of crisis, healings, or guidance—and thankfulness floods our souls. Some of the most special memories
are the times when we were used by the Lord for Gospel work, and were able to help some soul find Him. God has been good!

Our spiritual memories are as special as the best vacation ever, and more! How rewarding they were, and how worthwhile our days were when we included the
Lord in a special way, accomplished a task for Him, or spent time in His presence. We may not have photos of these events, but we can keep an album
of memories in our minds and hearts and peruse them often. When we take time to reminisce on these things, we will be blessed!
