Heard and Loved

Aug 07, 2021

I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. – Psalm 116:1

Angry words were bouncing off me like hailstones off a sidewalk during a mid-summer storm. It seemed that nothing I could
do or say had any effect on the wrath coming from the one who had falsely accused me. As I walked away from the situation, praying for wisdom on how
to handle this verbal ambush, I felt an inner peace. God had heard my prayer and sent instant comfort.

A while later, a good Christian friend called me. Upon hearing my voice, she picked up on my hurting spirit. She lovingly asked questions, and then listened
as I poured out my aching heart. Her words were few. She seemed to know that words were not really needed, that just being there and listening was
the most important thing. A love welled up inside me for this special person. Later she prayed for me. Her caring, godly nature and kindness, mixed
with God’s love, gently began to heal the wound that the hailstones of anger had caused.

How good God is! He hears our voices when we can hardly form a prayer. He comforts with His wonderful peace when the world around us seems violent and
whirling out of control. Sometimes the Lord sends reinforcements in the form of friends who love the Lord as we do. These dear ones listen, encourage,
pray, and minister to our needs. Is it any wonder, then, that we as Christians love the Lord? He is our all! Our joy! Our peace! Without Him, love
would be only a word. With Him in our lives, His love surrounds us and fills us to overflowing!

No matter what situation may confront us today, we can cry out to the Lord and He will hear our prayer. He sees what we are going through, He cares about
us deeply, and He wants to meet our need. With Jesus as our Savior, we will always be heard and loved.
